What Causes Skin Growth?

Malignant skin growths (skin cancers) are mostly due to accumulative or sudden exposure of skin to harmful ultraviolet sun radiations. Underlying genetic disorders can also play a role. Benign skin growths can be due to natural aging process (seborrheic keratosis), trauma or underlying genetic factor (neurofibroma)

Clinical Presentations Of Skin Growth

Each type of skin growth has its own unique clinical presentation. However in general when a skin growth demonstrates sudden evolution (change in size, shape or color) or starts causing pain or bleeds without any trauma, it raises concern for skin cancer.

Complication Of Skin Growth

If the malignant skin growth is not addressed in a timely fashion, it can cause local or distant metastasis, causing considerable morbidity or mortality.
